The Technical Standards Digest registry, Cap. XIX "Replacement of Metal Forming " reads as follows.
In case of robbery, theft, loss or deterioration of metal identification plates (license plate) the owner of the vehicle or the buyer in case of transfer, may request the replacement of the same.
To purchase the new plates must complete the following requirements sectional registry where this file based on the vehicle or motovehículo:
1) Acquire the Application Type 02 (Form 02) and signed before registration authority or notary public to certify the signature of the holder applicant.
2) Attach to the filing of form 02 Motor Vehicle Title (original).
